Sorbit Diaper
Designing for UC Davis team at Biodesign Challenge** 2018
Sorbit is a biodegradable diaper made with bacterial cellulose grown on agricultural waste, that can be composted after use. Sorbit envisions an efficient, affordable, and sustainable means for absorbent hygiene care.

**Biodesign Challenge is a worldwide competition that offers students opportunities to envision the future with biotechnology. My teammates and I had the honor to present our product — Sorbit biodegradable diaper at New York MoMA, representing UC Davis.
As the designer of the Sorbit team, I design the brand, poster, website and exhibition. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with science students and make graphics that help everyone to understand complicated science ideas.

Our team won the Runner-Up & Outstanding Science Awards at Biodesign Challenge, and had continued the project as a future start-up company. This project also won the Design Education Initiative Award at Core 77 Design Awards.
Little Bang Business Competition
Sorbit became an entrepreneurship project after the Biodesign Challenge. I made more posters and pitched at business competitions and conferences. My partners, Annie Wang, Jolee Nieberding-Swanberg, and I also interviewed diaper users online and in person to understand the diaper users’ needs and motivations in an attempt to find a solution for reducing plastic waste from disposable diapers.

We were able to receive Session 1, 2 & BioInnovation Winner at Little Bang Business Competition
